 A boxed retail collection of PlayStation Network titles will hit store shelves on June 25, bringing four games and a $40 price tag with it. Best of PlayStation Network Vol. 1, the first in a series of "Best of" releases according to theannouncement, includes When Vikings Attack, Sound Shapes, Tokyo Jungle andFat Princess.
No word on when Vol. 2 will follow or what games will be included with it, but for the time being this seems like a pretty legit way to save "nearly $15." Folks interested in internetless PlayStation Networking might also want to check outJourney's Collector's Edition, which is also a collection of acclaimed PSN games on physical caveman media for cavemen.

Hey there everyone! This is Ian from XDev Studio Europe, and I’m here with exciting news about a new PlayStation Mobile exclusive available later today.
We’re big football fans here at XDev and after a thrilling climax to the season, along with Fergie and Beckham’s retirement, we need something to see us through the long summer months until the new season kicks off.
We think we have the perfect answer to your post season blues with our new PlayStation Mobile exclusive Passing Time brought to you by Honeyslug, the developer behind the awesome Frobisher Says for PlayStation Vita and the forthcoming Hohokum for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.
Passing Time is a different kind of football game – designed from the ground up to be fun, accessible and playable with one finger! We’ve put together the following trailer to give you an idea of the fun to be had.
In celebration of its release I spoke to Mark Inman, Co-Founder of Honeyslug, and asked him about where the idea for the game came from. Here’s what he had to say:Passing Time, like many of our games, was born out of a conversation down the pub. A former colleague of ours was decrying the standard of flash-based soccer games. The next day, coder and designer Ricky Haggett had written a game where you passed the ball around a circle of players you had no control over by clicking on each player to move the ball. Sony saw it and absolutely loved it.
Free Kicks and Corner Kicks play almost like chess puzzles, you calculate the possible moves ahead to give the optimal scoring chance. I spent weeks studying set piece videos and trying to replicate the player behaviours before I had ones I was happy with.
  Different control interfaces were tried, but only the touchscreen interface we used on Passing Mode felt satisfactory, and translated well in the other modes.
The prospect of adding five-a-side to a football game where you didn’t control the players seemed like a tall order, but Antony, our new coder, rose to the task and produced a fantastic mode which exceeded our hopes. Then it was just a case of tweaking the gameplay and visuals.
We showed it at game events and it went down really well. The simple touchscreen play means it can be enjoyed by soccer and non-soccer fans alike. At one show, a lady brought her grandkids over to play it and ended up enjoying it so much, she ditched her kids and came back later on her own!
Passing Time features loads of game modes and awards, and there’s also a full team editor where you can change everything from names and kit, to individual player abilities (by earning skill stars) and even player heads! Doctor! Doctor!! I think I’m turning into a pool ball. Get to the back of the queue!
Dawn breaks over a wet and grey Manchester. It’s raining. Again. Outside the office window, a shopping trolley is having a race down the Irwell with a slightly crazed duck. The big money is on the duck.
Inside, it’s approaching fever pitch as the finishing touches are put to our first game, Pool Nation. A small band of just 10 occasionally-presentable gamers, we’re giving our balls that one last polish. Ball obsession may sound like something a ’70s DJ may be afflicted with, but here at CherryPop, in one way or another, we’re all smitten.
We’ve even been known to dress up as giant pool balls and scare small children.
In Huw’s corner, he’s doing what astrophysicists do best – bouncing pool balls around and making sure they behave themselves. To Huw, a spot of ball-on-ball interaction is physics porn, pure and simple. Nobody describes the inner dynamics of what happens on the baize, second by second, quite like Huw.
Gary, on the other hand, loves to admire his balls. Not just beautiful balls, but gorgeous, shiny balls in gorgeous, shiny settings. Right now, he’s wondering whether to give them another good buffing, or just let them be – after all, he can already see his face in them.
Matt puts it all together in a sexy little package, making Huw’s ball action and Gary’s good looks work. Matt also has an online alter-ego, the question-fielding “Dr Matt”. No Pool Nation question is too big, none too small. Dr Matt explains that it’s a positive sign if your balls turn black, and how streaking is a wonderful thing – if you’re playing Endurance, of course.
We want our maiden title to count. The way to do that is by belief, and by making the best-playing, the best-designed and the best looking pool game ever made.
Yes we’re a small team. True, we may have an obsession with all things round and shiny, and yes, we can’t write a press release without alluding to Uncle Dave’s cue envy. But what we do well is make great Pool Games. We hope you agree, as we’re really very proud of what we’ve achieved.

Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg has hit back at critics that claim the Call of Duty series is past its peak.
At a special event that revealed the next game in the series – Call of Duty Ghosts – Hirshberg praised the franchises’ development teams, describing the process of building a new Call of Duty “the hardest creative assignment of them all.”
“Sometimes people like to write the story and ask the question: ‘How long can Call of Duty last?’” he said.
“Sometimes people have suggested that this franchise is cresting or has crested. And I know it seems like it should. But there’s just one problem. It’s not. In fact, by just about every measure we look at, Call of Duty has never been stronger. This franchise is not only still vibrant, it is still growing.
"Sales of the game, sales of the downloadable content, number of monthly active users, the number of daily active users, average play, social media influence, whatever you look at, hard measures or soft measures, this is a franchise that is still on the rise after all this time.
“That’s remarkable. Keeping Call of Duty relevant, growing, thriving and still surprising people is not easy. In fact, it might actually be the hardest creative assignment of them all. We are all attracted to the blank page, the creative opportunities where there are no restrictions, but a franchise like Call of Duty has more responsibility to its fans.
"And then to keep coming up with new and meaningful ways to innovate each and every time, to keep it fresh and exciting. I think our teams have done that better than anyone.”
Call of Duty: Ghosts is due on current and next generation platforms and hits shelves on November 5th.

LUFTRAUSERS is a short game. To be precise, it takes about 30 seconds. We’re not talking in terms of hours you need to complete the campaign, although you technically could beat it within two minutes. We’re not even talking about how many hours you’ll be playing the game in total. What we’re talking about is the amount of time a single round of LUFTRAUSERS is going to take you.
When you boot the game for the first time on your PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Vita, you’ll see the logos of Vlambeer and Devolver Digital – as you’d expect. There’ll be a short introductory cutscene, as a lone dot appears on enemy radar. A submarine rises from the water.
The structure of the game is really simple. You start out with the original LUFTRAUSER, the most powerful airplane ever built. It is launched perfectly vertical from a submarine that only submerges for the shortest of moments to allow you to establish yourself as the nightmare of the many enemies surrounding you.
A game of LUFTRAUSERS is essentially you trying to survive against increasing odds. While at first you might engage only basic fighter planes, it’ll take an average player just moments to lure out more powerful foes – fighter jets and boats. You’ll pull impressive maneuvers to dodge their fire while returning a constant spray of bullets. Only every now and then will you release the fire button to allow your airplane to repair itself. Eventually, you succumb to the crossfire in a glorious explosion.
This should be about 30 seconds after you boot up the game.
If you were good at the game, you’d be fighting the final boss in approximately 60 seconds. Of course, you just got started so you’re probably terrible at the game, although admittedly, you probably did pull some crazy acrobatics.
You start over and the game introduces missions that you can complete to unlock new LUFTRAUSER parts. While you slowly start to come to grips with the game and clear some missions, your average game time is still under 50 seconds. You might’ve seen a larger sea vessel at this point, but they’re mighty enemies that you simply cannot manage to defeat.
We don’t think a ‘run’ has to be long. We think that at the end of each run, you should feel like you know what you did wrong or what you could do better.
You start unlocking parts – engines, weapons and body parts that you can combine to create 125 different combinations of LUFTRAUSER. Do you build a slower, but more heavily armored RAUSER with a heavy weapon and a submarine engine to take those larger, new boats? Maybe you prefer speed over armour, and maybe you like to get in close for melee damage?
As you learn to survive longer, your combos rack up higher. Your scores keep increasing. You start to understand how the game works and how each LUFTRAUSER handles. If you want to be truly good at this game, there are many more challenges you need to master. From enemy aces equipped with machineguns to classified entities – there’s a lot to learn before you can call yourself worthy of a real LUFTRAUSER pilot.
From our playtests we can tell you that an average game of LUFTRAUSERS is 68 seconds. In that time, people kill about 70 to 100 enemies. We can also tell you that about 30% of players have managed to ‘complete the game’ including the final boss.
We wanted to make a game about becoming the best fighter pilot in the world. If you’re willing to rise to that challenge, you’ll be meandering your favourite RAUSER through clouds of bullets, picking off stray foes and shooting down enemies a hundred times your size. We promise you though, that will not come easy. It will take practice.
We wanted to create a game that gets to the point without nonsense. We wanted to create a game that doesn’t hold your hand, that allows you to fail and get better.
Well, that and we really like explosions and absurd amounts of screen shake.

Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery is a 3D puzzle adventure game for PS Vita, following the adventures of Jacob Jones and his mythical Bigfoot friend as they try to solve the mystery of Camp Eagle Feather.
The game is full of ingenious puzzles to test even the smartest among you, so the team here at Lucid Games have provided some helpful hints to make sure you don’t get stuck!
[h=3]Don’t forget to tilt![/h] As Mr. Grimmel will tell you, there’s a reward for picking up all of the litter around Camp Eagle Feather. For every soda can you find, he’ll give you a credit so you can phone in for some help. The more credits you spend, the better the hint you’ll get.
Some soda cans might be out in the open, but if you tilt your PS Vita you may find some hidden on top, or behind other items. There are 130 soda cans hidden around the world, and finding them all won’t be easy.
[h=3]Make notes[/h] A pen and paper is always handy for taking notes, but in Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery we’ve given you a memo function so you can take notes as you play. Your memo can be a very handy tool indeed for solving the trickiest of puzzles.
There are plenty of drawing tools, pen sizes, colors and even magnets to play around with. Making good notes will keep you on track throughout your journey.
[h=3]If you’re stuck, you can always pass[/h] There’s no shame in being stuck on a puzzle; our brains all work in different ways, after all. So if something just isn’t clicking in your head, you’ve used all of your hints, and there’s nobody around to point you in the right direction, then go to the ‘Hints’ menu and use a pass. You’ve got three passes to use throughout the game, so use them wisely.
[h=3]Explore![/h] You won’t need to complete every puzzle to finish the game, so there’s a chance you might have missed some brainteasers along the way. Don’t forget to explore the camp, and even go back to some places you might have visited earlier. You never know what you might find if you look hard enough!

I’ve been bursting for this moment – Men’s Room Mayhem is finally launching on PlayStation Vita this week!
For anyone unfamiliar with the game: you’re hired as the janitor of your very own chaotic men’s room. You’re responsible for directing patrons, keeping everywhere sparkling clean and steering patrons away from trouble! You need to get your customers safely to the urinals and stalls in time – otherwise there’ll be a few nasty accidents for you to clean up!
You can get bonus points for guiding patrons close to each other, but don’t collide or there’ll be fisticuffs; maintaining proper men’s room etiquette (always leave a gap), as well as for demonstrating good personal hygiene and making sure patrons wash their hands. All this is done using simple line drawing touch gestures on PS Vita’s front screen.
Since my earlier post, people have been asking me about what else to expect from Men’s Room Mayhem. The game begins in the Country Pub location where you learn the basics, and are eased nicely into the action.
The gameplay is broken into waves of customers that you have to attend to against the clock, with each wave requiring you to survive for longer periods. Making a mistake leads to a nasty stain on the floor and a similar splat on the mayhem meter. If you’re unfortunate enough to make more than five mistakes in a round then it’s game over. However, if you can survive long enough and see the wave out, you get the chance clean up by furiously rubbing away any indiscretions before the next bout of mayhem ensues.
There are six further locations to unlock, each with a unique layout, and each with a surprise special patron to deal with. Your precision steering skills will be tested to the limits by the drunk in the Biker Bar who just can’t walk in a straight line, and you might be shocked to hear a woman has been seen in the Nightclub toilets. There must have been a queue in the ladies!
As well as the standard mode of play we’ve included a Blitz mode where you get two minutes to serve as many customers as you can, with them stacking up patiently at the door ready for you to pull them in and see that they make it to the porcelain in time. There are also 14 trophies to unlock, and countless in-game challenges to satisfy so you can level up and become a gold standard janitor!
We hope you have as much fun playing Men’s Room Mayhem as we did making it. You can download it from the PlayStation Store when the Store updates tomorrow for £1.99/€2.49, and we’re also offering some launch discounts for the first month as a special Ripstone treat!

The latest round of PS3 Ultimate Edition bundles sure is decadent, offering 10 games and all of their DLCs discounted up to 65 percent for standard PSN members, and 75 percent for PS Plus members. The Ultimate Editions hit the PS Store tomorrow, May 21, and the sale lasts until May 27.

 The Sony Entertainment Network, which is already live in the US and Brazil among other countries, will launch in Japan on May 29th. As you may recall, the service is a browser-based marketplace with games, movies and other media available for download. SEN is especially targeted at PlayStation users; games and videos purchased will automatically show up in the PlayStation store. Given that Sony calls the Land of the Rising Sun home, it's high time its Entertainment Network opened its doors to Japan. And with E3 less than a month away, the world may get a taste of Sony's next-gen hardware for enjoying this service -- stay tuned.

The team BiteYourConsole is back in the evening releasing the new version of Bite with support in the realization of homebrew.
In this new version there are two good news, we have added the possibility to create backup with the new method remaster and the second novelty, we can, through steps dictated by Bite, convert PSP homebrew to run them on the PS3.
Interacting with Bite is simple, we can directly use the PSP console, the console because every button has its own function.
Bite Functions:
•Down Arrow and Up Arrow: Opens and closes the console, is used for the construction of homebrew.
•Left Arrow and Right Arrow: Opens or closes the help function.
•Home button: Returns to the menu selection.
•Volume function keys: Use the plus and minus buttons can decrease or increase the volume (if you load an mp3 file).
•Circle button: Opens the folder where installed Bite.
•Musical Note: Open the audio file (mp3)
•Select button: Used to upload files cso, iso, eboot.pbp or files pkg.
•Start button: This function is not available.
•The keys angle handpiece squared circle eg: Generic buttons, used for various functions.
Once created, we can decide whether to pick them up files from the folder where they are created, in this case click on the Select button and copy the files so created, or through the transfer ftp server on PS3, the files will be saved in the package and installed with multiman with the bubble function, this function may still have some small bug, we will try to fix in a future release.
In the tools folder we can find a file backup_bat, use it in case some files can become corrupted, you can intervene by pulling back the batch files used by Bite.
Attention: For proper operation of Bite do not change the installation directory, in the version No Setup Bite extract the folder into the directory 'C: \ Program Files'.

Today's Gold Box deal of the day on Amazon is BioShock Infinite. Downloadable PC versions of the game are $25 off ($35), whereas boxed copies of the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are $20 off ($40) for today only.
Meanwhile, $35 Steam codes through Groupon for the game appear to still be available until the end of the day. What we're trying to say is, today might be a good day to buy a new game.
